“ADJAMEE: Textiles for Home Decor

A business school graduate, Talissa Bachelot was on a business trip to Côte d’Ivoire when she discovered the Adjamé market and its array of textiles, colors, and patterns. Captivated, she returned to Paris with her arms full of fabrics and began designing cushions. Encouraged by her early success, she launched her brand “Adjamée,” which means “encounter” in Tchaman. Adjamée embodies her vision of feminine connection. For Talissa believes in encounters, just as she believes in the richness of contrasts, the magic of mix-and-match, and the spark created by bold combinations. In search of the perfect fabric, the entrepreneur now travels the world from east to west, seeking out unique pieces from every corner of the globe. In addition to cushions, Talissa also offers stunning mirrors inspired by Maasai necklaces, custom-made wall hangings crafted from folded fabrics, as well as throws and quilts. In addition to working with private clients, she has also contributed to the interior design of hotels and restaurants, such as the Pavillon Puebla and, more recently, Farago on the rooftop of the AC Marriott in Nice, where she oversaw the entire design process. If you’re looking to add warmth to your spaces but are new to interior design, don’t hesitate to reach out to Talissa: she’ll come to you with fabric samples.”

By Grégoire Hababou, co-founder of Sloft Magazine

"The Quest for the Perfect Fabric." "The Quest for the Perfect Fabric" is the brand's subtitle Adjamée, founded and developed by the talented Talissa Bachelot. Adjamée takes its name from the (almost) eponymous market in Abidjan. (…)
“Adjamé” also means “the meeting” in the local language, which fits Talissa’s approach perfectly. While the brand’s origins are firmly African, its inspiration comes from all over the world. Talissa travels—a lot! And it is from the countries she explores far and wide that she sources the raw materials she uses to develop her products. Organized into collections named after the countries where the fabrics come from, the wax-print cushions from Kenya sit alongside those made with Peruvian.

The Adjamée touch isn’t limited to cushions—it extends to many other pieces. The throws and quilts adorn the sofas of connoisseurs, and cufflinks adorn the wrists of stylish women, and headbands adorn the hairstyles of the distinguished.

“The pillows and pouches created by this young woman all have one thing in common: the fabric. Each piece features intricately detailed patterns and vibrant colors that bring energy and a cheerful touch to our homes.”

I'm a huge fan of fabrics—I've always brought some back from my travels… so I decided to create my own brand by developing (…)exclusive products that have a story behind them and a social purpose…

Each product is defined by its color, cut, or design—the three pillars of the brand. I do a lot of research oncontemporary shapes andpatterns. I also believe that the term“joie de vivre”captures the spirit ofAdjamée quitewell…

The architects, musicians, and designers in my circle inspire me on how to showcase my products! “

Rosalie is a bluffer. A poker player who believes too much in her own cards and not enough in yours. After hearing you complain over and over that the apartment’s decor is too cold, she asked you to take charge of redecorating the whole place—snickering to herself and muttering under her breath that you weren’t capable of it anyway. Which, let’s be honest, is completely true. Except you’ve got two aces up your sleeve—two friends who’re going to help you go all in by changing up your rugs. One is named Talissa, the other Sybille, and together, for two weeks, they’re livening up Etienne Marcel with a very, very stylish pop-up home decor storefull of cool products and great advice.
